Hi, my name is Blake and you’re currently on my blog page. Thanks for coming!
I’m currently a first-year MBA student at UChicago’s Booth School of Business. It puts me in a great position to track down all sorts of tech news and keep up on trends in technology. I boil that down into the insights I share in this blog.
I’m from the north suburbs of Chicago, have 3 siblings, and received a BS in Business from Indiana’s Kelley School of Business in 2013. After some consulting, I jumped into startups before applying to schools.
I’ve got interests across the board. I read a lot of business books, but round it out with some history and fantasy. I’m a graduate of Second City’s improv program. I love Marvel movies (and in a past life, comic books). I’ve chosen school as the perfect time to become a masochist and work out in the mornings. I was invited to the Chicago Swordplay Guild after completing their entry-level class, which I highly recommend for history/fitness nerds. I built my own PC, and then did the same for a couple friends. I am very excited to reach the point in life where I can responsibly own a dog.
The J stands for Jack, my legal first name. My parents have no defensible reason for adding this complication to my life. Blake is short for Blakeney. The X stands for my confirmation name, which I never use, but jbdavis is taken on all social media. And let’s be honest, it doesn’t pop.
